FAQ
Age

 Q. How old must one be to start Martial Arts?

 A. We recommended that children start after age 4. On the flip side, we have also accepted students at age 65! Our goal is to improve your child's focus, self-discipline, perseverance, and fitness. For adults, we hope to better our students' physical fitness, self-image, and sense of commitment.

Children

 Q. How will this program benefit my child?

 A. The Martial Arts will also help your child develop physically. Our program increases speed, stamina, and strength in children. The program also develops balance, coordination and timing. This will help in all other sports and activities.

 Q. My child has ADHD. Is this a good activity for him?

 A. Martial Arts has been known to improve children's ability to focus on tasks at hand. It is important for the parents to get involved and encourage their child to practice. We have had successful students who have ADHD, severe learning disabilities, students who are deaf, and those with dyslexia.

 Q. Will Martial Arts improve my child's grades?

 A. Our unique children's program offers a lot more then just self-defense and physical agility. Our educational martial arts program and unique achievement program will teach your child history, geography, safety and much more. But the best part of all is that The Martial Arts will give your child the self discipline to study. This leads to increased concentration at school which often pays off in the form of better grades.

General Questions

 Q. What is Poomse(Forms)?

 A. Forms are one of the most important elements in the development of Tae Kwon Do. They range from beginner through master level where students learn to develop their proper Tae Kwon Do techniques. The forms' steps are quite easy to learn, but they are very difficult to perfect when the students have to perform correctly. This difficulty comes from the refinement of coordination, balance, timing, breath control and rhythm, all of which take time to master. Forms can be practiced anywhere and at any time which is beneficial for many students when they have to practice by themselves. Forms contain both defensive and offensive movements. To perfect a poomse series, practice repetitively until it is deeply ingrained so that all movements are instinctive. Below are the names of the forms that range from white to first degree black belt.

Testing

 Q. What is the purpose of testing?

 A. Promotion testing allows each student to demonstrate their progress in skills and knowledge to certified examiners in front of witnesses. The promotion exam process builds self-confidence through expressing oneself with maximum effort. Exam preparation teaches students to set and reach goals, a valuable skill in everyday life.
